Loving others begins with loving ourselves

I think we all yearn to feel loved, wanted, validated and appreciated. Yet, how do we wrap ourselves  with this feeling of love? By simply not waiting for others to show us love, but instead by loving ourselves.

How do we love ourselves?
By being kind to ourselves, by not holding onto guilt, by believing in our potential and at the same time accepting where we currently are in our journey, by carving space and time for ourselves to reenergize ourselves and to fill our love tanks, by being giving, gracious and grateful for all that we have and all that we are. And believe me we have much to be grateful for. We are much more than bodies clothed in name brands and fancy long titles in front of our names. Each one of us is a diamond waiting to be polished.

How do we love others?
In order to love others, we must first love ourselves. We must first show ourselves respect (in a dignified manner and not in a narcissistic way) and only then could we shower our endless spring of love onto others.

By loving ourselves first, we could appreciate, respect and show compassion to all those around us, no matter what walks of life they come from because when it comes down to it we all derive from the same source. We are all of the same essence. Diamonds in the rough, just waiting to be polished.
